As a high school junior our son was recruited to a lot of colleges for lacrosse but needed to pull up his scores 100 points on both the verbal and math sections. With your tutoring, his scores went up 300 points and he was accepted to Brown, Bucknell, SU, West Point and Bryant with great scholarships. Thank you for your help!

We break down standardized tests to fundamental concepts, gradually building strategies and skills to help students understand each topic. We give a clear idea of how to approach problem types that students know, as well as problems that they have never seen before. This approach of teaching and review demystifies the test and builds confidence.
Our methods at Big Mind Learning aid memory and melt anxiety. When the test day arrives, it doesn’t loom like a threat but is approached with confidence and success. Join us!
TIPS FOR SMART LEARNING: Big Mind Learning encourages all of our students to follow common-sense but often-ignored practices for success both in school and on the SAT and ACT. Three of these techniques based on brain research follow.
Retain information best by studying in multiple locations. Move around the house or other study area while reviewing concepts.
Limit your focused time studying for quizzes and tests to 20-30 uninterrupted minutes per study session. That’s the amount of time that the brain can handle. Take a 5 or 10 minute exercise break and begin studying again.
Make a study plan and stick to it by being accountable every week to one mentor or parent.
